Company Outing
Finally, our friend Sabine's visit with us coincided with a Rubettes' performance. So she got to experience what she usually only translates.
After a calm drive, we arrived relaxed at the party-tent. Tina still had to get the passes but 20 minutes later, we were in the midst of the event.

The tent was already filling up when the cover band "Try again" was entertaining the audience with rock classics.
Right around 6 PM it was time for the Rubettes' performance. While the stage technicians were still setting up equipment, the audience in the tent continued to grow. Danny, who we have known from many other concerts was quite stressed out and even ended up having to get Alan's and Mick's guitars.

Those two arrived a few minutes later with the rest of the gang in an obviously relaxed mood. After a little chitchat and some joking around, it was time to get serious and go to work.
The band was in great spirits and the audience had fun. So right from the beginning, the atmosphere was fabulous. Jokes were flying in front of and on stage.

Especially, the Taiko Drums were much loved by the audience and the guys honored it with much drum action. However, even the best concerts come to an end. The guys left the stage after an hour and an encore performance.
After the gig, autographs were signed for a little bit on the side of the stage, followed by a TV interview behind the tent and then it was time to return to the hotel.

We stayed for a little longer to watch the Sweet perform who started their performance full on and fired up the audience. Unfortunately, we had to drive back home much too soon, but Monday called for an early start.
