The Gig in Enschede
With Tina getting up on the wrong foot Sunday morning, a nice long breakfast was out of the question ... Off we went on an empty stomach towards Holland. We did end up going on a small excursion to Luxemburg, fueling the car, buying coffee and cigarettes and of course - enjoying a fine meal :-)
Right by Meckenheim we hit bad traffic wasting nearly two hours just to get to Leverkusen and almost lost hope to get there somewhat on time. But ... right after Leverkusen we got moving again and we even managed to reach the Music Center before the Rebuttes did.
We checked out matters and had enough time to relax drinking some coffee. Afterwards, we inspected the venue finding a beautiful ambiance with surprisingly good sound in every spot despite the fact that the place is spread over several floors. The Dutch audience was in a party mood. It's always apparent to me what easy access I get taking photos over in Holland. Everybody steps aside to make space for you and nobody is bothered when you step in front of them for a instant. Super!
At last, the guys arrived at the event - a little late because of several interviews - so they rushed to get changed. In a fabulous mood, they got on stage and gave a superb performance. You could tell they had a blast! After two encores the audience was still yelling for more ... We couldn't stay much longer afterwards, since I had to get back to work on Monday. John was playing with Fabian - that was too cute! Since Fabian doesn't speak English and John doesn't speak German, the two managed to communicate using body language :-)
After some nice chats, we finally drove back home reaching our house around 1 o'clock at night - tired - but perfectly content! We'd like to thank the great team at New Entertainment once more for the wonderful evening - they truly put together a fabulous event.
