The Rubettes feat. Alan Williams performed in a big pavilion at the Hessentag on Friday, May 26, 2006. Hence, we loaded our car and off we went to Hessisch Lichtenau.
The roads were quite busy and we had trouble to get there in time. The weather was terrible and we hit one traffic jam after another.

It was already quite late when we reached the venue to pick up our tickets. We still went to the hotel to check in. Since we didn't ran into the Rubettes and couldn't get information when exactly their performance was scheduled, we were getting concerned.

So we got back in the car and drove right to back to the event ... Well, not directly to the event, since the location was all secured. A nice policeman gave us some good advice where to park closest to the venue. So, we thankfully didn't have to walk too far in the pouring rain :-)

We could hear the guys already playing at the pavilion from quite a distance. Late again ..., and in all that rush, I didn't adjust my camera correctly and I didn't notice it until much later. I'm hoping that the photos aren't too bad ...

I have to admit - I couldn't fully appreciate the performance since I was so busy taking pictures. I didn't even notice Katrin (Sailor-Marinero) who had positioned herself right in front of the stage. Katrin was so kind to provide us once more with several of her shots and I'd like to post her review instead of ours ...

It's halftime at the big 2-day Oldie Night event that started with a fabulous performance by the Rubettes yesterday at the "Hessentag" in Hessisch-Lichtenau close to Kassel.
That's the reason why we came and we really enjoyed the performance of the guys, as well as the gigs by Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick & Tich, The Hollies, The Sweet and Slade afterwards. ... ... The show was truly great - just too short :-(
(It was particularly a treat, since we experienced the Rubettes feat. Bill Hurd a few weeks ago in Unterschleissheim for the first and hopefully only time! ;-))...

...The Rubettes, The Sweet and Dave Dee & Co. were definitely the highlights of the entire Oldie event. (End of quote.)
