The Gig at Cologne's "Arena"

Cologne's Arena (also nicknamed "The Flask";-) is a pretty impressive building. The venue provides multi-tier and box seating on a big scale. We were astonished to find this large arena packed with folks ready to party. Staffers at the "Arena" were helpful and friendly throughout the event.
Despite a slight change in band members, the Rubettes featuring A.W. performed at their best. Since John was unable to perform, his son Scott took over on drums. Like father - like son! At the end of the gig he tossed the drumsticks into the audience - a really need gesture to the fans.
The acoustics in Cologne's Arena are fabulous, the lighting system is good and the big screens were definitely a plus considering the large venue.

After the show, fans were scrambling for autographs! It was almost impossible for me to take pictures in the crowd - but the Rubettes featuring A.W. definitely had fun. Fans were not permitted backstage, however, Alan took some time afterwards to chat with us and others.
