The Oldie Music Festival in Saarbrücken
The Rubettes' gig in Saarbrücken was scheduled the day after their performance in Bregenz. They actually got a ride from Bregenz to Saarbrücken. Once we had checked into the hotel, we went out for Pizza since we were starving. Also, somehow we thought they weren't performing until later that night. When we returned to the hotel, we discovered why the guys were nowhere to be seen - the gig was scheduled to start a 7 PM and they were already at the venue (Saarlandhalle). We lucked out and got to go on the coach with Boney M and the Sweet getting us there before the show started.
The Rubettes were in a great mood and after a few conversations, they hit the stage and performed for 30 minutes. Once again the Taiko drum session was out of this world and the fans went wild!
Later on we got to talk with the guys again and hooked up with a few former acquaintances. In a nutshell, a spectacular show and an awesome weekend! While I am at it - here is a question for Jimmy: Was this shift all or nothing???
