Tielt ( Belgium )

... Celebrating Europe ...

The Europe Festival

The city of Tielt hosted the Europe Festival early July. And - the Rubettes were performing there - so off we went to Belgium ...

Before we could take off , we had to stop by our sports club. I baked two cakes just for a special training event :-). And then we got on the way.

The drive was quite pleasant and for once we didn't get lost :-). We reached Tielt in the early afternoon.

...let's get started...

Before the Concert

We checked out all the festivities first. Right in the city center of Tielt jugglers, musicians and artists were entertaining visitors. Many booths and beer gardens in front of restaurants provided meals for the public.

Right thereafter, we noticed that the guys had already started their sound check.

The Sound Check

Of course, we wanted to see that from close by and we headed for the stage. We noticed that the Rubettes were accompanied by their sound technician Danny. In no time, the guys were performing a little gig and sang two songs. After chatting a bit they left to get changed for the show.

Shortly afterwards, the place became alive. To get to the stage, the guys actually had to walk across the town square. It didn't take them long to conquer the stage.

The Concert

The Rubettes were striking off a tune and got the audience going with their great mood. The band was joking around a lot and the audience responded. Even the event organizers were having a groovy time next to the stage. All things considered, this was a truly fabulous and worthwhile performance.

After the show, the guys sold all sorts of fan memorabilia and signed autographs. And the fans kept them really busy.

...the jam-packed town square...
