The Concert in Verviers

lots of work for the stage technicians

The Rubettes performed in Belgium. A reason for us to visit with them. So, off we went ... First we picked up a friend - then we made our way to Verviers.

No problems during the drive, so we got there quite early, even before the guys arrived at the concert location. Since we wanted to attend the sound-check anyway, we ended up watching the technicians do their job ...

photos first - then food

A bit later, the band arrived directly from Calais in 2 minivans - a little late but in great spirits. It didn't take the guys long to begin the sound-check. While Alan was finalizing a couple of details with the event manager, Mick was outside signing lots of autographs and having some fun.

After the sound-check the band headed briefly over to the hotel to get rid of their luggage. And after that - yes, you guessed right - we went to get something tasty to eat ...
Unfortunately, we lost the others on the way back to the concert and we had to fight our way through the one-way streets of the city on our own.

singing Acapella

Luckily, we made it back in time to see the guys' performance from the beginning. The band was in a great mood prior to the concert and the atmosphere backstage was at ease.

In no time, the band hit the stage that means the world and engaged the audience in high spirits. The Taiko Drums were of course one of the highlights of the show.

and finally autographs

After having performed their hits and given encores, the fans received personal attention from the musicians. They gave autographs and posed for pictures with them. Well, and then it was time for us to make our way home. After all, Tina had to be at work on time the next day ...
